End Goal

Working alongside local trades and experienced general contractors, students in the Construction Technology Co-Op Education Program at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School will build a semi-detached home. The proceeds of the home will be put towards purchasing new diagnostic imaging equipment at the Hospital.

About HSHB Program

Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School has joined with community partners to have students building houses in Strathroy. This is a great opportunity for students to learn and develop skills on the job in a real-life situation. Students will be on site all day working with employers from across various trades with their classroom teacher on site.

How You Can Get Involved!

Many Community Partners have started to express their interest in this project. Any contribution, to this project, whether cash, in-kind donation of construction materials, or volunteering skilled labour will help to lower the cost of the home. This will reduce the financial risk and contribute to the funds available for the purchase of much needed medical equipment after the house is sold.

The first two homes have now been completed in a project that teams high school students with local builders in Strathroy. But the big winner in the Building Foundations Project is the Strathroy General Hospital and its patients.

Hoping to take advantage of the London region’s scorching-hot housing market, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation has asked Strathroy-Caradoc council to donate an empty lot in the municipality’s west end so the organization can build a house and put it up for sale.
